Recorded description

Let X be a family of rational-valued random variables on a finite index range [0, n) with a distribution p, let m be a natural number, q a rational, and a a positive rational. If the family is pairwise uncorrelated below m and every trial below m has variance q(1-q), then a^2 times the expectation of the indicator of the event {(S - E S)^2 >= a^2} is at most m*q(1-q), where S is the pointwise sum of the first m trials. This is Rat.chebyshev_inequality at S with the right-hand side rewritten by Rat.binomial_variance, so the bound is a closed expression in m, q and a and the caller never has to rewrite a Rat.variance term. The classical form divides through by a^2 to read P(|S - E S| >= a) <= m*q(1-q)/a^2; this is the same content before that division, in the multiplied-through shape that needs no Rat.inv.

Evidence

kernel-axiom-free

Kind
kernel-term
Status
checked

Supports: The declaration is admitted by the trusted kernel gate with an empty Kernel::axiom_footprint, together with every other declaration of ADR-1631's rational binomial layer. The test asserts Environment::contains FIRST, because an absent name has an empty footprint too, and it pins its own name-list length, so a declaration silently dropped from the layer fails it.

Checker command
cargo test --release -p axeyum-lean-kernel --lib rat_prelude::binomial_rat::binomial_rat_tests::binomial_rat_declarations_are_axiom_free -- --exact 2>&1 | grep -c '^test result: ok. 1 passed'
Evidence notes

grep -c, not grep -q: -q would SIGPIPE the producer under pipefail, and -c exits 1 printing 0 when the line is absent, so a suite that compiled to zero tests and exited 0 is caught rather than counted as a pass. --release is mandatory: the rational prelude SIGABRTs on the default debug thread stack.

Kind
kernel-term
Status
checked

Supports: The test infers the corollary's declared type and requires that it is NOT definitionally the plain Rat.chebyshev_inequality statement, with a positive control that its type is definitionally itself. Without that, 'the conclusion no longer mentions variance' would be a claim about the source rather than about the admitted declaration.
